You have to pair the Bluetooth device to Windows then run the program and configure the com port to talk to the location service. ![]() I tried a program called GPS Direct ( ) but had no luck on a Nextbook Flexx10 trying to talk with an old Delorme Bluelogger GPS. ![]() To create a com port and then a program must be used to read that data and transfer it to the location service. ![]() In the case of mapping software, they talk to the "location service", which must be turned on in settings, to get co-ordinates. Windows 8 doesn't want any direct hardware communication without going through an "abstraction layer". ![]()
